The second game on the Fabula Nova Crystallis project. FF Versus XIII development started in 2003. FF Versus XIII was intended to console Playstaion 2 (PS2), but according to Tetsuya Nomura as the game creator, the PS2 does not have the hardware power enough to visualize Versus, similar to the case with FF XIII at the beginning of its development as well. So that Nomura had to make this project from scratch again when the PS3 was announced by Sony in 2005.
According to Nomura, Versus will be the opposite direction to the previous FF. As Versus own meanings derived from the Latin and means "change", Versus will be given a dark, adult, and also the first FF featuring splashes of violence with a lot of blood. So naturally, the ESRB (the rating system in the U.S.) immediately gives rating "M" which means the Mature or adult for Versus. And FF Versus became the first to get an adult rating for the first time in the history of FF. Although Versus will be very different than the previous FF-FF, Versus will still incorporate the traditional elements that always exist in the FF series.
Since FF XIII was announced to be multi-platform in 2008, temporarily withdrawn Versus team to help the team working on FF XIII. But SE quickly rectify that team still working on Versus and Versus on the right track to finish on time.
Until recently, FF Versus XIII is still preached made exclusively on the PS3 console. Why not follow that participated made FF XIII on Xbox 360? by Nomura, with a focus on one console alone will make the job easier and can pour more idea than making the game on 2 consoles as well as different abilities. Nomura statement to make at least temporary calm FF fans at the PS console that FF versus XIII look forward to this and was already disappointed that the decision making FF XIII SE into a multi-platform.
Gameplay
Unlike his brother (FF XIII), Versus so far has not provided definitive information about gameplaynya. However, according to Nomura, Versus will have an action-RPG gameplay like Kingdom Hearts, Nomura made the previous games which are very successful. And to further add action elements, will be added shooter elements like FF VII Dirge of Cerberus, but certainly with a better execution. Nomura goal is to achieve the exact same level of action with the action who is on the movie Advent Children. Then on the world map, it seems Versus will take the same approach with FF XIII. Transportation affairs, in a few screenshots of the main characters are shown Versus being boarded a black sedan that design is not much different from the design in the real world. Regarding other info such as summoned, mini games, etc. still have not given by the SE.

Final Fantasy XIII is a wonderful game, but I still thinking it's good. I understand why some people do not like really which is different thing. But still a nice entry in a large series of games. The story is interesting. I was always impressed at the tradition behind each new FF game.
